Back off both idle speed screws (throttle stop) until the blades are lightly seated in the bores then run the screws up until they just make contact then go one full turn.
I recommend a dual plane manifold such as the Edelbrock Performer 400 EGR (P/N 3771) or the Weiand Action +Plus (P/N 8010) or the new Weiand Action +Plus EGR (P/N 8013). The Edelbrock intake has a good carburetor mounting surface area and will help keep your Bronco emissions legal if you keep the EGR Valve.

Problem with this is my carb is that it was set at the factory almost at its leanest setting, 1/2 turn bottoms the screws out. When I richen them the engine doesn't speed up as above it just bogs. So do I need to change metering rods? By the way this is an edelbrock 650 cfm on a fairly hotted up 302. Bottom line whats the best way to tune this ...

The big deal is the Edelbrock dual quad setup up top, with 2-500 cfm performer carbs and their progressive linkage. I estimate the motor will make around 300-320 hp and pull decent vacuum (12-13 in). My big question is setting up the metering rods for the progressive linkage.
Has anyone changed their jets in an Edelbrock 1406 carb. My carb is running very lean. I've changed the metering rods, springs, and jets on the primaries, but I can't seem to figure out where the secondary's are at and how to changed them. :huh: Any Help would be great!

I obviously dont have a vacuum port on my marine Edelbrock but is the port on the intake manifold a vacuum location I could use?
